Pastor Xavier Thompson, affectionately known as Pastor “X”, serves as the Senior Pastor of the Southern Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, the Saint Paul Baptist Church in Pacoima, and the Calvary Baptist Church of Pacoima known as The Covenant Connection. Pastor Thompson is a longtime community leader who has committed his life to serve others. Always an advocate to uplift people, he has gained the love and admiration of his members, the local community, religious communities, and leaders across the country with relevant and inspirational messages that transcend church, social, and political boundaries. Pastor Thompson loves to impact the community outside of the church walls by serving on various commissions, advisory boards, as well as supporting community engagement initiatives.
Pastor “X” earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California. Driven by a passionate commitment to see people succeed in every area of their life, Thompson desires to see people live a life of purpose and influence in the right relationship with God. His unfailing dedication and steadfast commitment to strengthening families and enriching experiences through the Word of God and fervent prayer emanates through all facets of ministry.
In 2018, Pastor Xavier received a pathology report that he had stage 3 cancer. With his world rocked, and faith deeply challenged, he stood on the promises of God in believing prayer. In a little over 6 months, he was able to testify of the supernatural, miraculous, healing power of Jesus. Today and forever, he is and declares to be continually cancer-free! To God be the glory for the mighty things He has done.
Pastor Xavier Thompson resides in Southern California with his wife, Rinnita, and their three adoring children – Jor’Dynn Simone, Emani Noel, and Xavier La-Shuan II.
